Inspired by Michael Beirut / Pentagram’s work for MIT Digital Lab, my love for video games and old classics like space invaders. This animation started as sketches of roughly 80 different pixel faces in grid bounds of 8 across by 9 down.

After drawing I found this website: GLYPH Immersive made by Kate Ander which allowed me to set up a duplicate grid and input points that I could then export to SVGs to create digital duplicates of my sketches with ease.

I took those SVGs and then began the process of animating them on After Effects similarly to Michael Beirut / Pentagrams motion video for MIT Media Lab.

Over the course of roughly six months I took
portraits of strangers, friends, and family all from roughly the same angle.

Detective is a photo series inspired by gritty films and tv shows like Se7en, True Detective, Fargo, Memories of Murder, etc. Shot entirely in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a perfect time capsule in NYC, using an old  rangefinder medium format Mamiya 7ii. The color and sharpness a Mamiya medium format produces can’t be matched, and I believe these photos would not be what they are without the help of this camera and its dream like color and quality.

This book is a summary of my visit and first time in Amsterdam, I was there during King’s Day.
